Pastor's Corner

Hello! I'm Pastor Erin Clausen.
I'm glad you found me! Whether you've landed on this page on purpose or on accident, I'm glad you're here! Whether you're thinking about coming to worship, looking for a new church to call your family, wondering who we are and what we're about, wondering what the church believes, or even just browsing around, I would love to take time out to chat with you. Feel welcome to email me or call (708-246-6228) or stop by St. James.

I began serving St. James on July 6, 2009, after graduating from the
Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago in May, 2009. I'm passionate about sharing God's story of good news -- that God is still bringing healing to the world (and invites us to join in) -- with everyone I meet. I find this exciting (God wants help from me! and you!), and I'm passionate about participating in the process - through Word and Sacrament, of course, and also through working with God's people to bring healing and change in the world. I volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, the Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault, and Women In Need Growing Stronger.

You'll find that we at St. James aren't pushy, but we do know that God still moves in this world - and God is moving at St. James! If you're looking for a community who wants to hear your story and share your journey, you've come to the right place. St. James is also in a period of renewal, making decisions about how to move into the future. Convinced that we are called to be Christ's healing presence in the world, we seek to follow God's lead in ministries that provide respite and peace, as well as excitement and community. So, if you want to share in the journey of learning what it means to be "church" in this time and this place, this is the place to be! St. James truly is a small church with a BIG heart - and we want to share it with you!

So, check out the website, give me a call, or stop by. We're excited about where we're going -- and we'd love to get there with you, too!
